Suddenly, working women could have dinner on the table even if they arrived home later than expected. In 1953, Swanson introduced TV dinners building on the “quick freeze” process developed by Clarence Birdseye in the 1920s. As time progressed, take-out and delivery food services unlocked the shackles that chained women to the stove.A decade later, the pill was introduced.
