This week, new research surfaced about black women’s desire to rise to the top in business but their tendency to be overlooked. SNL’s Cecily Strong presented a few poignant burns at the White House Correspondent’s Dinner, DC and Mattel teamed up to create a line of female action heroes, and the NY Times published an op-ed claiming that more qualified women would be attracted to engineering if it served a higher purpose and meaning for the world. The Pope called the gender wage gap ‘pure scandal,’ Malala’s attackers got sentenced to life in prison and Minecraft created a female character.
