The NYC Chapter welcomes all Executive Council and Innovator members to join us for cocktails and an inspirational chat with Jean Lin, founder of Colony.

Join your fellow Executive Council and Innovator members for an intimate evening of cocktails and inspirational conversation with Jean Lin, the founder, curator and creative director of the first-of-its-kind design gallery and collective, Colony, the designers' co-op. Colony is a community of independent furniture, lighting, textiles and objects designers coming together on a New York City stage to celebrate American design with an international audience.
The conversation will be lead by fellow Executive Council member Cindy Kynard, in which Cindy and Jean will explore Jean's initial inspiration to "break the traditional mold" for the standard NYC design showroom, discuss methodologies to better identify and support female designers and their work, and reflect on the impact that her design collective has had on up-and-coming independent designers.
The discussion will begin around 7 pm, but we welcome guests to drop by as early as 6:30pm to mingle, enjoy a glass of wine, and explore the design gallery. The Colony team will be there to help with any questions that you may have.
Also, check out the current Dutch Design in NYC exhibition up at Colony (Sept 12 - Dec 20) alongside its regular roster of independent American designers. A collaboration with Ventura Projects curators, Dutch Design in NYC features process-driven work from seven top Dutch designers.
