Join us at the opening reception of a photography essay, by Lisa Pearl Klein, exploring the remains of Jewish life and culture in Warsaw, Krakow and Budapest found over 10 days in April 20, 2019.

Lisa shot all the photographs during a Temple Israel of New Rochelle trip to Eastern Europe. Approaching it as a photojournalist, she looked to capture what the group experienced as they explored the remains of Jewish life and culture in Poland and Hungary.

Lisa’s passion for photography started in high school in the eastern suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio. She went on to study photography at the Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University and received an MBA at Columbia University. Using her love for visual communications and storytelling, Lisa applied her skills to a career in consumer advertising and then in real estate. She has always pursued creative outlets, including designing jewelry, but her love for photography was never far away. Picking up her camera once again, Lisa is focused on capturing how the past influences today.

After raising their son in Scarsdale, NY, Lisa now lives with her husband Mark and two Berndoodle pups named Ella and Louis on the beach in Asharoken, Long Island. You can find her photographs on beach life in her Instagram feed @lisapearlklein. Lisa and Mark are long time members of Temple Israel of New Rochelle.
