Whether it's trying to negotiate for increased salary or charging fees for your services, knowing your value is key to asking for your worth.
For this event, we will divide into two groups: self-employed and corporate professionals. This will allow you to learn from other women in a similar context. Each group will have a facilitated discussion to begin and then tangible tips shared by the facilitators.
The Corporate group will be led by Melissa and Simone and will focus on how to:
- Value your worth in an organization
- Ask for a raise
- Push for a promotion
The objective of the session is for corporate women to understand what gets in the way of them knowing and demonstrating their value in order to receive recognition and progression in their workplace. Have you ever felt under recognised for the work that you do? Are you able to articulate the real value that you bring to the table?
During the session, we will share insights and examples of key habits that can typically get in the way of professional women asking for what they need to set themselves up for more success.
Participants will walk away equipped with new awareness of what their barriers are as well as solutions and strategies of how to overcome them and keep moving forward in their careers.
There will also be a prize draw for 3 copies of the “How Women Rise" book By Sally Helgesen and Marshall Goldsmith, which outlines the 12 Habits that hold women back from their next raise, promotion or job. This way you can keep one book for yourself and gift the others to two colleagues or friends.
The Entrepreneurs group will be led by Michelle and will focus on:
- Pricing your products / services
- Asking clients for what your worth
- Negotiating contracts (also cover discounts, pricing buffers)
The objective of the session is to help women Entrepreneurs learn the secrets and know the difference between your value and price.
During the session we will touch on key areas illustrating to you where the value of your strengths lie, what drives buying decisions, understanding the difference between your ROI and your price, how to be the master and not the servant to price, some negotiating tips, plus do some FUN exercises. Expect the unexpected and buckle up for a great ride!
Participants will walk away with valuable knowledge, learnings and practical tips they can apply the very next day to their day jobs and have more insights as to how NOT to undervalue themselves again as an Entrepreneur/Self-employed professional.
