Art Touch Collection is pleased to partner with LiuLiGongFang to exhibit the glass art by the Taiwanese actress-turned artist Loretta Yang.
A celebrated actress, Yang mortgaged her house and those of all her family members in 1987 to gain start-up capital for a new venture in Tamsui, Taipei. With the encouragement of her husband, Yang went about to revive the Chinese ancient glass art by learning pate de verre or lost-wax casting, a French technique for making molded glass that was popular in the Art Nouveau era. Now more than 20 years later, their initial two-person LiuLiGongFang workshop has become a global brand known for its lively inner body of liuli artwork constructed by layering colors and bubbles.
Their successes have earned them the moniker of “founders of contemporary Chinese glass art” and "the Georg Jensen of the glassware world”. Works created by LiuLiGongFang have become part of the permanent collection of the Palace Museum in Beijing, Victoria and Albert Museum in London, Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, New York, and Museum of Arts and Design in New York City.
The exhibit includes Yang’s selected art pieces and popular jewelry lines of limited editions. They are wonderful gift ideas for birthdays, anniversaries, and Valentine’s Day.
Light refreshments will be served.
