Join us for an inspiring panel highlighting women leaders at the forefront of tech policy and business and human rights. The fundamental premise of this field is that caring for issues of human rights is first and foremost the responsibility of business, but it can also help protect and propel business. As the field of tech and human rights grows, there is great opportunity for leaders with different experiences and viewpoints to contribute to its growth, including women leaders.
While there is still not perfect balance in terms of representation on panels, in academic publications, or among tech company executives, there are signs of progress. Notably, Yahoo was the first company in the sector to create a dedicated team focused on business & human rights. This team is now housed at Verizon and has been women-led for much of its history.
Other tech companies have followed suit and created positions dedicated to human rights, filled with women leaders. Women are also leading the discussion in other constituencies from civil society to government to academia to socially responsible investing. This is a dynamic and evolving space and unique in the instance of women leaders dominating.
Join us to hear powerful stories and actionable advice from some of the incredible women leaders in the field of tech policy and human rights.
