Working Caregivers Roundtable: Cognitive overload and how to overcome it

Ever get to the fridge and forget why you opened its door? Cognitive overload is common among busy working caregivers. Join us to learn what it is and how to overcome it.

Thu, Jul 22, 2021 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM EDT

This week's topic: Cognitive overload and how you can overcome it as a working caregiver

Life as a working caregiver is busy. There are people to think about, chores to do, reminders to give and appointments to make. This is on top of all you are thinking about at work.

When our brains hold onto too much information, it overloads and limits our cognitive abilities.

Join us to talk about cognitive overload - what it is, how it shows up in your life and what you can do to release yourself from the overload that's holding you back as a caregiver and a professional.

This event is open to all working parents and caregivers. You are free to join this Zoom meeting however you feel most comfortable - with the cameras on or off.

We only ask that you come ready to create a supportive and interactive experience. You can do this by coming with something to give (insights, experiences) or something to ask (questions, support).

The Working Caregivers Roundtable meets twice monthly to connect with other working parents and caregivers through structured conversations, rotating special guests and topics.

Session Agenda:

  • 1:00 - 1:10: Welcome & Introductions
  • 1:10 - 1:40: Facilitated discussion (main room or across breakout rooms)
  • 1:40 - 1:55: Crowdsourcing Solutions
  • 1:55 - 2:00: Wrap up
