POD Club: Work Joy

How do you cultivate and share joy professionally (for yourself and those around you)? A lot of work focus is on changing the things that aren’t great. This month for POD Club, let’s celebrate what brings joy and how to spread it.

Are there any professional models who bring you professional energy, motivation, and joy? How do they do it? What are you trying to be in a greater space of work joy these days?

If you know podcast guests/hosts that fit this description, start there! Nobody come to mind? Here are a few different paths to work joy I’ve found this month. Listen to one of these or let these inspire your own selections:

  • Jessica Shpall Rosen’s podcast, “More than a Fallback” encourages finding your superpower, which definitely is a way to increase work joy! The “More than a Dancer” episode features Sara Elisa Miller.
  • Caitlin Donovan wrote this article on “How to Turn Burnout Around” for Ellevate Network, and now hosts the podcast Fried. This episode shares one burnout story and features an invitation to play.
  • Molly Stillman shares her professional journey on the Disrupters for Good podcast, including how she has found joy and passion (while also doing good) along the way.
  • Diane von Furstenberg is interviewed by LiveTalksLA, focused on her book Own It.

Note: In consideration of busy schedules, we aim to end by 8:45 to give a break before your next meeting.
