Join 85 Broads on November 4, 2010 for a conversation with Mary Miller, the U.S. Treasury Department’s Assistant Secretary for Financial Markets. A former senior executive with T. Rowe Price, A/S Miller will share her thoughts on financial markets, investing and the outlook for the U.S economy. A/S Miller joined Treasury in February 2010 as the Assistant Secretary for Financial Markets, whereby she advises the Secretary on broad matters of domestic finance, financial markets, federal government financing, and federal government credit policies. Before joining Treasury as one of the most senior economic officials, Ms. Miller was Vice President of T. Rowe Price Group, Inc., in Baltimore, Maryland. At T. Rowe Price, Ms. Miller was the head of global fixed income portfolio management, a member of the firm’s Management Committee and a member of the firm-wide Asset Allocation Committee. Ms. Miller joined T. Rowe Price in 1983 as a fixed income credit analyst. From 1980 to 1983, Ms. Miller was a research associate at The Urban Institute in Washington, D.C. At the time Ms. Miller was confirmed by the Senate, she was a trustee of The Urban Institute. Ms. Miller was also a trustee of the Baltimore Museum of Art and the Baltimore Choral Arts Society. Ms. Miller earned a B.A. from Cornell University and an M.C.R.P. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Ms. Miller also has earned her Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
The event will be held at the US Treasury Department at 6pm in the Diplomatic Reception Room (3313). Treasury is located at 1500 Pennsylvania Avenue (corner of Pennsylvania+15th and New York). All attendees will have to provide their full names, DOBs, social security numbers(or passport information if non US citizens), and organization in order to be cleared into the building.
