What does it feel like to be a female veteran? Well, for starters, yes, we exist! And we went through the same boot camp/basic training as our male counterparts. We have the same pay as males with the same rank. Yes, we are on the battlefield, fly jets and some of us are even officers just like our brothers in arms and we aren’t just nurses and admins. 

It has been this way for decades so why is this still so shocking for people to discover that there are female veterans? It never occurred to me, until moving to Tennessee, how differently female veterans are treated and why it has become my mission to connect with as many veterans and especially female veterans as possible to build up our community and shine a light on the culture that we have worked so hard to assimilate into.
