Workshop: Protecting Your Small Businesses & Side Hustles - 2024 Corporate Transparency Act
1 hour & 15 minutes
Online • Closed Captioned •
Whether it’s an LLC, Partnership or other business formed through Secretary of State filings, all those with a small business will have to report their Beneficial Owners to FinCEN (federal financial crimes unit) starting in 2024. Please note, steep penalties can be incurred by small business owners not following the new Act, including up to $10k in fines or 2 years in prison.
While this may seem daunting, this workshop will break down in lay(wo)men’s terms how to be prepared, file compliantly, and understand the in’s and out’s of the new Corporate Transparency Act. We'll cover who needs to report (& who doesn't!), how to identify Beneficial Owners, when you need to report, how to report, and much more.
Don’t yet have a small business but toying with the idea of one? This workshop is also perfect for you! Those thinking of starting a business are encouraged to join because the reporting timeline for businesses started in 2024 will be shorter than those formed before the new year.
