Workshop: How to De-Shame Your Budget
1 hour
Online • Closed Captioned •

Do you find yourself creating an arbitrary, too-strict budget, then berating yourself when you have trouble sticking to it? Or do you find yourself falling into shame spirals whenever you spend money on things others deem “frivolous”? In this webinar, Holly Trantham and Lauren Ver Hage from The Financial Diet will teach you how to de-shame your budget philosophy and create a flexible budget that actually works for your life. Because you can spend money on takeout and manicures — you just need to have the right system.
Holly Trantham has been with The Financial Diet team since September 2016, working her way up from managing editor to creative director. She is the author of “Beyond Getting By,” a guide to living with money, not for money. (Penguin Random House, April 23, 2023). In her free time, you can almost always find her devouring a romance novel or a slice of cake (or both simultaneously). She lives in Brooklyn with her husband and two tuxedo cats.
Lauren Ver Hage is The Financial Diet’s co-founder and chief design officer. She oversees all of TFD’s branding and design across print, social, video, and events. She also designed TFD’s first book, “The Financial Diet: A Total Beginner’s Guide to Getting Good with Money” and was thrilled to design the follow-up book, “Beyond Getting By.” She lives in New Jersey with her husband, two kids and dog.
