VIRTUAL EVENT Who are you becoming?: Discovering who you are as you achieve your goals.

We all have a vision for our futures. And your vision may include dreams about:

  • what you want your career to be,
  • starting a business (or businesses),
  • where you want to live,
  • the kind of home you want to have,
  • the relationships in your lives - from family to romantic to friends and colleagues, hobbies, and more.

But who will you become as you make your dreams a reality?

When you plan a trip, you need to know your starting point and your destination. The same thinking applies to setting goals. And during our time together, we are going to do just that for your life vision.

What to bring:

  • Long-term goals and a future vision for your life.
  • A journal or notebook (and pencil or pen) to write down your thoughts and insights.
  • Be ready to share and discuss ideas and thoughts.

First, you’ll imagine what your life will be like when you reach your vision and long-term goals. This is your destination.

  • Who are you? What traits and skills do you have?
  • Where do you live?
  • What are you wearing?
  • Where are you working?
  • Who are your colleagues? What are they like?

For example, if you want to own a business, you’ll need to be able to collaborate with others, build consensus, create a community, and sell.

If you want to be an executive, you’ll want to be able to do many of the same things and be able to partner with other executives to get stuff done.

Then you’ll need to know who you are now. This is your starting point.

  • What’s your mindset and traits?
  • What skills do you have?
  • What is your life like now? Describe it in detail.

Then, we’ll spend some time determining the difference between where you are and where you need to be.

What’s always surprising is that we are usually a lot closer to achieving our goals than we may think. You may not think you are a leader because you don’t have the Manager or Director title, but you are leading your team at work and influencing colleagues. You may not think you are collaborating or building consensus at work, but you are skilled at bringing people together to get work done. You may not think that you are good with budgets until you realize that your projects NEVER go over or else you find a way to get additional funding.

By the end of the session, you’ll understand who you are now, who you’ll become, and identify what you’ll need to discover about yourself to achieve your goals.
