“Do I lead or do I leave?” For too many working women, this is a choice they feel they need to make at many different points in their career. Caught between male-dominated cultures at work and overwhelming responsibilities at home, women are constantly questioning how far they can advance in their careers and still maintain some semblance of balance in their lives.

Whether they’re contemplating their first promotion, a plum assignment, a move to the C-Suite, or whether to work at all, many women can’t see a third alternative to moving up or moving out.

It doesn’t have to be this way.

Liz O’Donnell and Jennifer Gilhool will talk about the choices women make and the resulting consequences. Learn strategies and techniques for evaluating your career decisions, matching your opportunities to your values and negotiating and creating professional opportunities that work for you.

Jennifer Gilhool is a lawyer and management executive. Her last assignment, Director for Ford Motor Company in Asia Pacific & Africa, resulted in her first book “Sheryl Sandberg, China & Me.” As a litigator, Jennifer represented corporate clients and did pro-bono work, including domestic violence protection and death penalty appeals. Jennifer founded Pink Streak Ink in June 2013. Jennifer’s current projects include establishing the Center for Diversity Economics & Inclusivity, a non-profit organization affiliated with the Center for Gender Economics in Australia and developing a web platform and mobile app to harness everyday purchasing dollars for social good.

Liz O’Donnell is the author of “Mogul, Mom & Maid: The Balancing Act of the Modern Woman.” She is also a General Manager of public relations firm Double Forte and founder of Hello Ladies, named one of the top 100 websites for women by Forbes four years in a row.
