Don’t have plans this Friday night? Then please join 85 Broads Power Circle Members, the Drew University community, and the American Cancer Society for Drew’s 2nd Annual “Relay for Life.” The relay, along with a multitude of activities organized by students, will take place on Friday, March 28th.
The events begin at 6pm and continue on until 6am on the university’s indoor track! Come on your own, with friends, or with your family for an hour or two. 85Broads Members will speak from 6:30 – 8:30pm, but if you have the stamina, feel free to set up “camp” and walk throughout the night!
Free food, carnival games, zumba, face painting, student acapella performances, and much more will be ongoing through the night.
Melanie Herald, Power Circle member and 85Broads NNJ chapter leader, will kick-off the opening Relay for Life ceremony at 6:30pm with a discussion about her personal journey navigating cancer genetics and preventive surgeries. She would love company from the 85 Broads community in walking the first lap and has established an 85B NNJ Team which can be found at: Please visit: http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR/RelayForLife/RFLCY14EA?pg=entry&fr_id=61727
Dr. Kathleen Ruddy, a Power Circle member and acclaimed breast surgeon will speak at 7:30pm about the breast cancer vaccine and virus.
Join in the fun and crusade to combat cancer. Honor cancer surivers, those currently battling and their caregivers, and learn more from our members.
Last year Drew University’s “Colleges Against Cancer” raised over $28,000 for the American Cancer Society at this event. Help us make this year a success too!
Event is free of charge but has a $10 suggested donation. Parking is available on campus and will take place in the Simon Forum.
