Sylva has used the Meyers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) for two decades to help people recognize their personality style and communication preferences. Recent research indicates that even though 40%-50% of people are introverted, the business world rewards extroverted behaviors.
So, whether you are an introvert who struggles for airtime in meetings or an extrovert trying to understand why your introverted colleagues don’t speak up, join us for the Fireside Chat as we discuss the two styles and how to incorporate both in your workplace.
Susan Cain’s new bestselling book “Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking” is the foundation for our discussion. Susan was a speaker at TED2012 and her video has been viewed by nearly three million people (watch it here: http://www.ted.com/talks/susan_cain_the_power_of_introverts.html)
Sylva has spent the past 20 years working with executives and emerging leaders in the development of their leadership and communication skills, both as an internal executive coach and as the President of SAGELeaders.com. As a management consultant with Ernst & Young she coached leaders and their teams on the implementation of organization-wide changes. She was also on E&Y’s steering committee for the implementation of their Women’s Forums. For the past 12 years, as the founder of two companies, Sylva built – then successfully sold – a software company, as well as, coached hundreds of clients around the world in various Executive Level positions. In 2007 and again in 2012, Sylva and her company were the recipients of the International Coach Federation’s Prism Award for coaching excellence.
