Is this the year you finally get the book you want and need to write out of your head and on paper? Today having a book is less of a “good to have” and more of a “got to have.” Ghostwriter and book publicist Judy Katz will share her many years of experience helping people become authors. Her stories are both funny and fully instructive. She will tell you how to determine what your book should be so that it will best serve your needs; how to find and work with a ghostwriter or other type of collaborator; the difference between entrepreneurial (self) publishing and trade publishing and how to determine which is best for you, and how to promote and use your book to build your business or reputation.
Judy Katz has ghostwritten or comprehensively edited 32 books so far. After graduating from UC Berkeley, where she had her own column, “Meaning’s Edge” on the Daily Californian for all four years, she wrote for a medical ad agency and two McGraw Hill Magazines before becoming PR Director for Madison Square Garden, the New York March of Dimes and the National MS Society. Entrepreneurial, Judy then established and ran her own PR firm, Katz Creative, Inc., until 2001, when she found her true calling: helping people become authors. Judy also has a publishing arm, New Voices Press, and along with self-publishing helps market her authors’ books to serve them as “the ultimate marketing tool.” Judy is a proud member of Ellevate Network and her credo is, “Behind every good woman is—another good woman!” Her website is www.ghostbooksters.com
