Background
In the 21st century, women’s social status is rising steadily. Women in general are talented in many areas involving high concentration, discretion, confidence and strong communication ability. Those outstanding qualities have helped women rival men while studying in schools. However, numerous exceptional educated women have encountered difficulties with career advancement. What are the causes for the disparity between advantages in colleges and that of career? Why do excellent educated women find themselves less privileged when entering the “real” competitive world? How should women pursue personal development in modern society?
In this Forum, “The Choke-point And Strategies in Women’s Career Advancement” and “The Development and Impact Higher Education Leaves for Women” are the main themes. Through communication and discussion, we will explore and find out the potential challenges for women in future career development, and seek the countering effective strategies.

Why?
College is the time when people start to inquire the true meaning for life and try to identify their own value. Bewilderment, confusion and a sense of fear for stepping into the “real world” soon are all part of this inevitable college experience. By sharing your own experience and directly interacting with domestic and international college female students, you can empower and inspire younger female generation and influence future women leaders. Furthermore, you will facilitate the enhancement of social status for women. You will contribute your power to women education and career.
Who?
Female students from nine Chinese colleges and U.S “Seven Sisters Colleges” will attend this dialogue, hoping to increase the understanding of women higher education and career development. At the same time, “Seven Sisters in China” earnestly invite Seven Sisters Colleges Alumnae and outstanding women from all fields join us to share your own experience. Together we will discuss how women could successfully use our advantages and overcome gender hindrance, and eventually become mature and dignified women who could make a contribution to the world.
Host?
The host is “Seven Sisters in China”. Seven Sisters in China (SSC) is a nonprofit intercollegiate student-run organization that gathers a group of motivated young women leaders from Seven Sisters liberal arts colleges in the United States and top Chinese universities. It aims at actively empowering future women leaders of China through experience sharing, interactions with successful women and a strong network of alumnae support to foster leadership and personal growth. It provides communication platform between young college women from two countries and elite women from all careers.
