Due to the clear changes in the workforce makeup and as more and more women reach senior level leadership positions in organizations, it’s critical to identify core skills around driving change, managing and motivating diverse multicultural teams and communicating with confidence. Fundamental to this is developing a strong set of personal and authentic leadership values in order to succeed in this evolving business environment.
Building a collaborative and supportive network / base of social capital / mentors is a priority for women in leadership as relationship and visibility is a core ingredient to getting things done and getting promoted in any organization. Capitalizing on opportunities and minimizing the challenges and barriers to success have become top priorities for today´s business leaders who are trying to manage complex and dynamic careers and family lives in a global business environments. Diversity is a corner stone for organizational success. It’s more important than ever for women to take a leadership position in successfully managing the power of diversity.
What are the opportunities associated with diverse workforce and how can female executives take advantage of them? Women leading a diverse workforce with high degrees of responsibility need to move away from the traditional face-to-face and direct supervision to alternative forms of motivation based on followers ‘need for flexibility, identity and excellence.
