The fair, a high-end art extravaganza to be held on a five-acre horse field in Bridgehampton July 8 – 10, will feature more than 70 prestigious galleries representing more than 500 notable artists, showing 4,000 important post-war and contemporary works of art from around the globe – from Andy Warhol to Henri Cartier Bresson. Highlights of the fair include: Preview the show and mingle at the ultra-exclusive Opening Preview Party benefiting LongHouse Reserve. July 7, 6-9pm Meet Mary Abbott, New York School Abstract Expressionist, as she accepts her 2011 Lifetime Achievement Award. July 9, 12-2pm Meet Russell Simmons and Danny Simmons, co-founders of Rush Philanthropic, as they accept their 2011 Arts Patrons of the Year awards. July 9, 5-6pm Screen the short film Full Circle: Before they Were Famous, featuring Warhol superstars Ultra Violet and Taylor Mead who will be present to meet and greet. July 9, 7-8pm See the latest artwork from legendary Hamptons’ artist Peter Dayton – a painted 2012 VW Touareg created especially for Art Hamptons 2011. Sponsored by Volkswagen and hosted by artnet. July 7, 6-9pm and all weekend long Pop into the Platinum Lounge for a “meet the cast” wine reception with stars from Bay Street Theater’s Betty’s Summer Vacation, and bid in a silent auction for a 1981 John Chamberlain screen print – benefiting the Theater.
