Join us for our second Art event, this time discussing
Swedish Art of the 21st century

The Swedish art world is teaming with newly established galleries and increased funding for state and local art galleries. Contemporary is reaching the price levels of modern art at the auction houses, who have also started having “Primary exhibitions”, where art is being sold at the primary market.

Despite a rich Swedish art scene, many artists still choose to live abroad. Swedish artists have never worked as internationally as they do these days and it often happens that they have several galleries representing them in different countries.

During the lecture Karolina Bertorp will give us a summary of the Swedish art scene today and discuss the trends and apparent tendencies of the early 21st century.

To help to sort out these issues we will be discussing five Swedish artists who differ radically in both the choice of technique and perspective.

List of artists being discussed:
Andreas Eriksson, painting
Jockum Nordstrom, collage and drawing
Helena Blomqvist, photography
Natalie Djurberg, video
Klara Lidén, video and installation
