Getting on your first board is all about "standing out" in your profession or respective field. When you stand out, you get noticed by CEOs.
In this Jam Session, Kathleen Camilli will tell you her personal journey to landing her fist seat on a company board, as well as tips on what to do once you get there.
Kathleen Camilli is one of the nation’s leading economists. Her insights and forecasting track record have helped corporations avert financial disaster and preserve capital for decades. She brings gravitas to the boardroom, plus a wealth of money management and operating experience. Her insights are amplified by her work for institutional investors, boards and companies. Before founding Camilli Economics in 2004, Kathleen was the U.S. Economist at Credit Suisse Asset Management (CSAM) in New York where she provided insight on the U.S. economy to the firm's investment process overseeing $312 billion in fixed income and equity assets globally.
Kathleen has served on many not-for-profit boards, including the National Association of Business Economics (2004-2007), National Council on Economic Education (2004-2006), and the Epiphany School Foundation (2000-2006). She is currently on the Board of Windham Mountain SKITA, an organization that is preparing young athletes to compete nationally and internationally (Olympics) representing the USA. She is active in organizations such as the Forecasters Club, National Association of Corporate Directors, the Conference Board, University of Delaware’s Governance Centers, KMPG’s Audit Institute, the Asia Society and the Women’s Global Forum (Davos).
Kathleen is currently a Strategic Board Adviser for Tactile Finance and part of the Board of Directors of UniFirst Corporation.
