Negotiating with Confidence: A Woman's Guide to Getting What You Want

Negotiating is tough...and it's a science, but there are steps you can take to empower yourself prior to and during a negotiation that can help you successfully negotiate a deal AND advance your career.

Women have trouble at times speaking up with confidence. Advancing your negotiation skills can elevate you as a unique leader among your peers and business partners, and drive success in all areas of your life.

This presentation will outline practical steps you can take in preparation that will help you: gain power even when dealing with more powerful counterparts, understand and communicate your needs, communicate and propose your solutions, and trade for better outcomes for you and your organization.

You will learn:

• How to prepare correctly for any negotiation
• How to understand the power that you do have as well as how to gain power even if you feel like you are in a weak position
• How to set objectives when asking for what you must have or must avoid in your negotiation
• How to use a process to manage the time required to negotiate more efficiently
• Why having a Wish & Concession list will help you be more flexible

Ananda Laberge is a Negotiation Consultant and Tutor for Scotwork USA and joined after having had an impressive 15 year career in healthcare that has spanned sales leadership, team management and negotiation.
