Seed rounds. Fund raising. Deal terms. Accredited Investor. These are all terms that we hear with greater frequency these days. Many of us are curious about and eager to invest in startups, particularly those founded by talented female entrepreneurs. The biggest challenge with Angel Investing is getting the right information and asking the relevant questions to help guide prudent investment decisions.
Ellevate Network’s Chicago Chapter along with Pipeline Fellowship and Nixon Peabody have developed a half-day workshop to help clarify what angel investing means and provide you with the tools to help guide you as you prepare to make your next investment. It’s a great way for entrepreneurs, accredited investors and aspiring accredited investors to get valuable information in one sitting!
Presenters will focus on:
- Clarifying the definition of “accredited investor”
- Accredited investor requirements
- “Securities 101” primer to understand the nuts and bolts of investing
- Where/how to find startups that are a fit for your investment goals
- Crowdfunding and other topics
The workshop will also feature Jill Rasmussen, Principal of Promoting Public Causes and graduate of Pipeline Fellowship’s Chicago program, who will discuss what she finds most gratifying about her investing experience.
