Join us as we demystify the myths of crowdfunding, talk about what makes a winning campaign, and hear first hand from an entrepreneur who launched a successful campaign. With special guests Deborah Jackson, Founder and CEO of Plum Alley; Jan Dahms, Managing Director at Plum Alley; and Geri Stengel, serial entrepreneur and President of Ventureneer.

A Columbia MBA and 21-year Wall Street veteran, Deborah has been passionately involved in championing women to build their own companies and increasing investment in women entrepreneurs. Before launching Plum Alley, Deborah as an angel investor; Founder and CEO of JumpThru, a subscription based program for women in mobile technology; and Founder of Women Innovate Mobile, the first accelerator for women-founded mobile technology companies. Deborah speaks extensively about women and capital and was named one of Fast Company’s League of Extraordinary Women. Plum Alley was named as one of Forbes Start-Ups to Watch in 2014.
Jan Mercer Dahms
Managing Director at Plum Alley. Jan has enjoyed a 20 + year, C-suite career spanning operational and fiscal restructuring, strategic planning, business development, and brand experience management. Prior to Plum Alley, Jan most recently served as CFO for International Planned Parenthood and VP at Teach For America. Her industry experience spans technology, healthcare, apparel, cosmetics, philanthropy, and marketing in B2B and B2C markets. Jan earned a MBA in international business.
Geri Stengel is currently the President of two companies including; Ventureneer, a digital media and market research company providing education and training for non-profits, as well as, Stengel Solutions which is a strategic planning and marketing firm specializing in solutions for industry leaders, growth businesses and nonprofits.
