#EllevateYourself Twitter Chat with Dr. Kathleen Ruddy

Ellevate is thrilled to host Twitter Chats featuring our outstanding Executive Council level members from chapters all over the world.

Please join us on October 28th for our special #EllevateYourself Twitter Chat with global healthcare leader Dr. Kathleen Ruddy (@DocRuddy).

Internationally acclaimed as a global healthcare leader for the “Pure Cure” breast cancer prevention Dr. Ruddy works tirelessly to promote primary prevention of breast cancer. She is especially committed to supporting research on the human breast cancer virus and the development of preventive breast cancer vaccines.

Dr. Ruddy’s mission: To understand the specific causes of breast cancer and to use that knowledge to prevent the disease. Her vision: Persuade the world that Prevention Is The New Cure.

Dr. Ruddy has twice been recognized by the largest private insurer in New Jersey (Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey) as an outstanding surgeon whose outcomes and costeffectiveness are exemplary. Dr. Ruddy has twice received awards for her blog on the website. Dr. Ruddy released the #1 app in the iTunes store (2010) for the first eighteen months after its release in 2010, Breast Health GPS, which pointed women to the nearest certified mammogram screening center.

In 2008, Dr. Ruddy create the first breast cancer philanthropy dedicated to the primary prevention of breast cancer, the Breast Health & Healing Foundation (501c3). Dr. Ruddy became aware of the existence of a human breast cancer virus in 2007 and has dedicated the energies and resources of the Breast Health & Healing Foundation to increasing funding for this critically important research. As Dr. Ruddy says, “If a virus causes breast cancer in women, we need to know about it now not in another 100 years.”

At this point, scientists are converging on agreement: The human breast cancer virus appears to be involved in 40-94% of human breast cancer. It is found and passed in human saliva. We are one step away from obtaining final proof of the causal role of this virus in human breast cancer and in beginning development of a preventive breast cancer vaccine similar to the one that targets the human papilloma virus, HPV, that causes cervical cancer.

In her quest to raise awareness about the human breast cancer virus and its global implications for the Pure Cure, Dr. Ruddy spent eight years researching and writing, OF MICE AND WOMEN: Unraveling the Mystery of the Breast Cancer Virus, which is now available on Amazon. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the book will be used to support research on the breast cancer virus.

Dr. Ruddy, who first became committed to fighting breast cancer in 1974 when her mother, Theresa, was diagnosed with the disease, continues to care for the 6000 patients under her care. Theresa is alive and thriving 41 years later, a beacon of light in the fight to end this scourge.

Dr. Ruddy’s unique expertise and world-changing projects make her such a compelling professional, and we’re thrilled to hear from on this Twitter Chat.

We’ll be discussing with Dr. Ruddy how her life experience has led her to where she is today, why she thinks investing in women is important, where she sees the future of healthcare going and much more.

Please tweet your questions in advance with #EllevateYourself and we’ll discuss. See you on Twitter!
