Dean's Speaker Series: Lynn Good, Duke Energy
1 hour & 30 minutes
Join UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School and Ellevate for a talk by Lynn Good, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Duke Energy, one of America’s largest electric power companies. Before becoming CEO in 2013, she served as Duke Energy’s chief financial officer, and led the company’s business during its initial development of renewable energy projects. She began her utility career in 2003 with Cincinnati-based Cinergy, which merged with Duke Energy three years later. Prior to 2003, she was a partner at two international accounting firms, including a long career with Arthur Andersen.
In 2016, she became a LinkedIn Influencer, the only regulated utility CEO in the thought leadership program. In 2014 and 2015, Fortune magazine listed her as 13th among the “Most Powerful Women in Business.” And in 2013, she was named as one of the 10 most influential people in the energy sector by SNL Energy.
Under Good’s leadership, Duke Energy has been listed as one of the “50 Best Companies to Work for in American” by Business Insider and DailyWorth named it as one of the “25 Best Companies for Women.”
Her insights into the energy industry and her personal thoughts on leadership should provide a topical and interesting message. I encourage everyone to attend.
The speech will be held at 5:30 p.m. in Koury Auditorium. Free visitor parking is conveniently located behind the McColl Building in the UNC Kenan-Flagler Parking Deck. This is the only place where free parking is provided.
