Online • December 5, 2016

Pipeline Angels opens call for its 2017 spring angel investing bootcamps

Mon, Dec 5 4:00 PM - Mon, Dec 19 11:00 PM EST

Pipeline Angels, a network of new and seasoned women investors, is changing the face of angel investing and creating capital for women and non-binary femme social entrepreneurs.

Pipeline Angels has opened a call for applications for its spring 2017 signature programs in:

Baltimore                                       Manchester-Portsmouth
Bangor-Portland                          Memphis
Boston                                            Miami
Burlington                                     Minneapolis
Cedar Rapids                                NYC
Charlotte                                       Phoenix
Chicago                                          Portland (Oregon)
Dallas                                             San Diego
DC                                                  Seattle
Houston                                        SF
LA                                                  Silicon Valley

I joined Pipeline Angels to participate in a forum where I could learn the ins and outs of angel investing from a variety of perspectives and actually put these learnings to the test by making a real investment in an early-stage company. The women in my cohort represent an incredibly diverse set of personal and career experiences, each bringing with them a unique perspective on what social enterprise means, what their individual investment strategy should look like, and what character traits are attractive to them in a founder.

Pipeline Angels has a rolling application process. Candidates are encouraged to apply by the next due date (Monday, December 19, 2016).

Pipeline Angels' bootcamp for new investors has three main criteria:

a) Woman and/or non-binary femme (we encourage anyone who identifies with womanhood–cis, trans, third gender–to apply)
b) Meeting one of the accredited investor definitions
(i.e., US$200K in income or US$300K joint income with spouse for the past two years, or US$1M net worth)
c) Interest in group learning model
d) Passion for social entrepreneurship

For most applicants, this is their first angel investment. They're attracted by the program's three components (education, mentoring, practice) and benefit from the diversity of each cohort. Applicants are intergenerational (ranging from late twenties to 60+) and come from a variety of professional backgrounds.

Key spring 2017 program dates include February and March sessions (Thursday, February 23, 2017; Friday, February 24, 2017; Thursday, March 16, 2017; Friday, March 17, 2017) in NYC, a city-specific pitch summit (March/April/May), entrepreneur interviews (May), and a local graduation (May/June). Email us ( your location to receive a program agenda.
