The Financial Women’s Association invites you to spend an evening with microfinance industry world leaders to learn about how innovation is being used to fuel growth and provide scale to reach beyond 100 million poor people. The FWA is honored to present as the keynote speaker, Vikram Akula, Founder and CEO of SKS India, one of the leading microfinance institutions in the world, who was recently named by Time Magazine as one of the world’s 100 most influential people. SKS Microfinance was founded in 1998 and today has loans to nearly to 300,000 poor women in impoverished regions of 11 states of India. In the last year alone, SKS achieved nearly 300% growth, with a 98% on-time repayment rate. Its goal is to scale to 700,000 clients by March 2007.
Mr. Akula will be joined by Peter Bladin, VP Technology for the Grameen Foundation, developer of the Village Phone and Village Computing Projects and Hans Dellien, Senior Manager, Microlending Services of Women’s World Banking.
