Greater New York’s Fulbright Association is excited to launch the Fulbright Film Series in partnership with Alamo Drafthouse NYC in Downtown Brooklyn on November 8th at 7pm.
The Fulbright Film Series opens with the new film "For Ahkeem." The Hollywood Reporter called it “a poignant snapshot of black struggle that humanizes a range of social issues through the first-hand experiences of one young woman." For more info & tickets, click here.
Every ticket includes the film screening, a panel discussion, and a reception — with appetizers and a complimentary drink. Our inaugural panel is on the theme of “Filmmaking in ‘Foreign’ Cultures & Subcultures,” and will feature five panelists in conversation. Moderated by Dena Simmons (Director of Education, Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence), Scott Shigeoka (Senior Community Designer/Storyteller, IDEO) and filmmakers Landon Van Soest (For Ahkeem), Kavery Kaul, and Andrea Weiss will take part.
All seating is reserved & tickets are limited — we hope you’ll join us!
