Women's Enterprise Forum 2007: The Women's Enterprise Action Plan Launch

Women’s enterprise in London reflects the characteristics of London’s unique economic environment. Of all UK regions, London has the highest rate of female business ownership: 16.7% in 2005 (London Annual Business Survey) and female self employment: 30% (Annual Population Survey). Through this initiative, the LDA aim to significantly increase the number of women starting and growing businesses. The issues surrounding the policy and practice of entrepreneurship in the US and UK will be discussed at this conference with hopes to yield recommendations to support women enterprise in London.

Keynote speakers include:

John Biggs, Vice-Chair, London Development Agency

Meg Munn MP, Minister for Women

Rt Hon Hazel Blears, Chair of the Labour Party
