Even though we know women are as important as men, and inequality between the genders is not right, because we live in a primarily patriarchal society, our minds have been conditioned to diminish and oppress ourselves. These habits of our internalized oppression cause us to unintentionally give our power away to others, which creates anxiety, self-doubt, and a persistent pattern of assessing how we’re doing in the eyes of others. Neuroscientists say such patterns create neural grooves in the brain, and cannot be thought away. Rather, they must be transformed. Mindfulness is an ancient method that’s intended to transform the habits of our conditioning, enabling us to see reality clearly and access out true authentic nature.
Mare Chapman will explore these basic patterns of our conditioning as women, describe how she’s been teaching women to bring mindfulness to these habits through a 9 session class she’s created, and guide us through a meditation to experience mindfulness. Mare’s book, “Unshakeable Confidence, the Freedom to be Our Authentic Selves: Mindfulness for Women”, based on her class, will be available for purchase.
