San Diego City Council President Pro Tem, Barbara Bry, joins us to talk about fostering diverse, inclusive and equitable workplaces in San Diego. While these are complex challenges, Bry will share her personal experiences and thoughts on what we can do to be a part of the solution.
Among other career highlights, Barbara Bry created two local organizations that support women -- Run Women Run, which encourages women to run for political office, and the Athena Organization, the leading organization for women in the San Diego tech and life sciences community. Barbara recently started the Workplace Equity Initiative, which brings together leaders from across San Diego to raise awareness of sexual harassment and pay inequity, equip people with tools to address the issues, and to develop a code of conduct for San Diego employers.
In this one-on-one interview, Barbara will focus on the role we each play and what each of us can do to build a culture of diversity, inclusion and equity in our workplaces.
