About Mobilize Women

Mobilize Women is a movement based on Ellevate Network’s purpose of achieving equality for all through giving diverse voices, and particularly those of women, a seat at the table where decisions are made.

We believe that when ambitious professional women who share our values get more opportunity — to have a voice in important conversations, to steer our collective economic power towards that which we care about — it ultimately benefits everyone, and leads to a more equal world.

To us, that means more opportunities for everyone. It means no more harassment. It means equal pay. It means a fair shake at success. It means access to the resources you need, wherever and whoever you are.

We know women are powerful, now it’s time to use that power to build the world we want to see. It’s time to mobilize.

Topics We’ll Cover

Intersectional Identities

Diversity has become a buzzword today--but when people talk about diversity they tend to focus on a few things — and many of these things are rooted in stereotypes. The reality is diversity has many layers, and it’s this intersectionality which makes us all different. After all… our differences are what make us stronger.

The Power of Empathy

Can you imagine what would happen if each of us practiced empathy for others in our daily lives? Can you imagine the change this would have on the world? Not everyone is born into the world with the opportunities and privileges that you are — but that doesn’t mean that they don’t deserve them. By practicing a deeper understanding of others’ perspectives and using your power and privilege to make a change, you will become a more effective ally.

Removing the Silence (Courageous Conversations 3.0)

#MeToo and #TimesUp are the beginning of a cultural change where it’s safer for women and people who are too often victimized to speak up about their experiences. How can we use our voices to continue making the world a safe place for people to be honest about their experiences of inequity and prevent these injustices from happening? This panel will provide compelling action items to help you be an active part of a movement that allows women to be angry, men to cry, and neither to be judged for speaking up.

Tackling the World's Biggest Problems

Global warming, trash island, natural disasters.... there are so many destructive things that humans have done to world that seem irreversible, and have devastating effects on our future generations. Luckily for us, the women on this session aren’t scared of tackling the big issues at hand, in fact they’re working towards a better future every day, providing real solutions to real problems.

Changing the Culture of Business (From the Inside Out)

How can you exercise your social capital inside your organization? In this panel, we’ll discuss the truth behind how these cultural changes need to happen at all levels, and how we can create an environment where these managers are supported in their quest for a more equitable business world.

Women and Clean Water

We believe that when ambitious professional women get more opportunity — to have a voice in important conversations, to have a seat at the table where decisions are made, to steer our collective economic power towards that which we care about - it ultimately benefits everyone, and leads to a more equal world. This panel will discuss the great impact that women decision makers have on their communities and the world at large, and how we can get more women into these positions.

Effectively Leading a Cross- Generational Workforce

If we’re going to embrace diversity at work, then we need to understand the reality of having a multi-generational workplace. Having many generations work side-by-side doesn’t have to mean a constant bumping of heads. We’ll talk about solutions that work from the experts who have used these game-changing ideas, and show you how you can bring this mindset into your organization — so embracing differences becomes a part of your culture, and you continue to attract top talent.

Starting a Revolution (#RedefineActivism)

The time to take action and fight for the future is now, and this revolution starts with all of us. The personal is political, and no matter what your stance, we all need to take action for what we believe in if we expect to see change. True to Ellevate form, this conversation will bring in people from all angles to have a constructive discussion about how to take action for what matters to you — and we’ll show you how you can use what you have to make a difference, now.

Innovating the Future

They say that children are the future for a reason —they are not as restricted by the ideas many adults have that hold us back from thinking in an innovative, unique way, the world is limitless to them. We’ve learned through recent events that kids bring smart solutions to problems, prompting us to ask:“Why didn’t we think of that before?”

Mental Health, Stress and Society

Approximately 1 in 5 adults in the U.S.experience a mental health illness in a given year. Seeing these numbers begs one major question that requires a long overdue answer: why is the stigma behind mental health still SO real?  You’ll walk out of this panel with concrete ways you can prioritize your own mental health as well as set a good example for others.
