Continuing Ellevate Phoenix’s “Amazing Women” series, Vicki Panhuise, a strategic business leader with more than 40 years of experience in top aerospace and engineering companies, talks about how she became a voice for inclusion and the invaluable lessons she learned as she faced the unpredictable ups and downs of the workplace.
As one of the first engineers at AiResearch Manufacturing of Arizona – now known as Honeywell Aerospace – and one of the few with a PhD, Vicki has had more success in her outstanding career than most. But even so, she had to face situations that didn’t go so well and led, as she puts it, to “having to meet failure head on.” Learning to bounce back – and bounce back well – is a talent she feels should be a top priority in any woman’s work life.
Joining Vicki for this no holds barred conversation is talent leader Jill Howard Allen, who built a career launching innovative programs and tools with Southwest Airlines and now serves as the VP of Talent and Organizational Development with Atlas Brands, an Arizona-based private equity firm. In this intimate and candid format, they will discuss challenges Vicki has had to overcome in the hope that others will benefit.
In addition to learning from failure, Vicki will discuss her passion for inclusion. For her, true inclusion means “Having a Voice at the Table.” She promotes an open dialogue among women and men and believes that inclusion and diversity need to be designed into the curriculum at Arizona universities. And Vicki is doing something about it! She is actively working to establish an endowment fund at both ASU’s Fulton School of Engineering and University of Arizona’s Business School to establish programs, fund research, scholarships and faculty to promote inclusion learning in all educational programs.
Lunch is included with the price of your ticket. Join us for an afternoon of inspiration from Vicki and Jill, an opportunity to meet other talented women from around the Valley and a tasty lunch from Blanco. We look forward to seeing you there.
