85 Broads Hong Kong Chapter warmly invites you to an informal discussion with Fredy Bush on Thursday, September 17 on entrepreneurship, business and philanthropy in China. Today, China’s unique blend of capitalism and socialism witnesses intrepid entrepreneurs existing alongside State Owned Enterprises with tight government links.
Join us for an evening of drinks, canapes, and interactive discussion with Fredy Bush, who will share how she founded the Tokyo-listed XFL, a financial news and information company and the NASDAQ-listed XSEL, a sports and entertainment media company like ESPN; how she built the companies into market leaders; and her personal story on how she overcame adversity and cultural barriers along the way. What roles are there for women who are seeking to break out of traditional career paths? How do young entrepreneurs succeed in China?
Fredy will also share her first-hand experiences founding and building Chazara Foundation and Xinhua Library Foundation. Chazara Foundation offers the opportunity for basic and higher education to girls in remote areas with few education opportunities. Xinhua Library Foundation aims to build one library per year in underprivileged areas, alleviating poverty through literacy.
Fredy Bush is Founder of Xinhua Finance Limited, China’s premier financial information provider. Fredy is also Founder and CEO of Xinhua Sports & Entertainment Limited, which offers sports and entertainment content to television, radio, internet and other multimedia platforms in China.
Fredy has over 24 years of experience in Greater China, and is actively involved with the Library Foundation (which has built four libraries) and the Chazara Foundation (which upports the education of over 1,000 girls in Ningxia province in China).
Prior to establishing the Xinhua Group, Fredy was instrumental in the creation of Taiwan’s financial and commodity futures market from 1985-1990, and in 1987 founded a US consulting business to build business alliances in Asia.
