Shalon is kicking off 2019 with something new in order to make sure that our community has the power to be heard; to share the issues that you want to explore that affect our communities, cities, nation and world.
Our first discussion of 2019 will be around the fundamental challenges we see impacting our lives and the lives of others. We’ll share what keeps us up at night and how we can get involved in a positive way.
The evening includes a gourmet 4 course meal designed and executed by Chef Brenden Darby who has worked in Michelin Star rated kitchens, competed on Food Network's "Chopped" and has selflessly donated his time and talent to feed thousands of people in Tijuana, Mexico in December and January. Each course will be paired with wine or a curated cocktail. As with every Shalon, moderated conversation will be led by the host and facilitated by experts who will share insight to ensure we all walk away feeling educated and empowered.
Topics that we'll address (based on participant feedback prior to the event) may include:
Addiction | Homelessness | Healthcare | Immigration | Refugee crises | Natural disasters | Climate change | Sustainability | Mental health | Racial discrimination | Gender discrimination | Age discrimination | Income/Opportunity inequality | Gun control | Education initiatives | Criminal justice / Prison reform
Great impact starts with a single step, but we cannot do it alone. Reserve your spot now and connect with other passionate, engaged citizens, change makers and thought leaders around the table on February 2.
