Self awareness is essential for success both at work and in life. It helps us to understand our own feelings and behavior and to better recognize the way others see us. This allows us to deal with difficult situations, change our habits and evolve. One method for becoming more self-conscious is to allow enough time for the process of introspection. This means passing on our immensely complex consciousness and separating time to isolate and delimit our thoughts and feelings. One tool to assist in this process is a structured investigation of our thoughts and feelings called "philosophical meditation." In its simplest form, introspection simply means giving careful, comprehensive and investigative attention to the initially obscure thoughts and feelings that pass by for our minds. What we need to learn is to isolate images and feelings, discover their origins, define their identities and delimit them with words. We will never achieve perfect self-awareness, but over time we can develop a greater self-awareness and we can become better in dealing with us, with our relationships, challenges and opportunities.
