RBG Screening: A Conversation & Celebration About Women Trailblazers
2 hours
In celebration International Women’s Day and National Women’s History Month, join us for a mini-screening and conversation about RBG — the documentary that celebrates the story of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg.
We'll be showing clips to spark conversation about women trailblazers and how the life of RBG may have inspired our own thinking and actions. Joining us, will be Judge Karen Donohue of King County Superior Court. Judge Donohue serves as a board member for the National Association of Women Judges, is a founding member of the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council, serves on the Washington State Supreme Court Gender & Justice Commission’s Incarcerated Women & Children Committee and the Washington State Pretrial Reform Taskforce.
March is a month to celebrate and build upon the wisdom of women trailblazers like RBG. We know some of you have already watched RBG; some of you have seen parts; some of you haven’t watched the film at all. Knowing that the wisdom we draw from watching films is deepened through conversation around our shared observations and reflections about how this applies to our lives, like our event last year, our chapter will be sharing clips and not the full movie. We’ll share clips that spark topical conversation with the help of some local female jurists and trailblazers. However, we do highly encourage everyone to watch the full-length film ahead of time!
Thank you to West Monroe Partners for hosting us!
