Want to write a nonfiction book but not sure how to go about it? If your research into the world of modern publishing has left you more confused than ever, come to this inspiring session and get all your questions answered:
- Should I get an agent and pursue a traditional publisher, self-publish, or hire a hybrid publisher? (And what’s the difference?)
- Are my goals realistic – for me?
- Do I have what it takes to write and publish a book that people will buy and read?
- Most importantly, will it be worth the time, effort and expense?
This informative evening begins with a concise seminar on modern book publishing from LifeTree Media publisher Maggie Langrick, who will explain how publishing works today and what it takes to be successful in each of the three predominant models. From there, you’ll get first-hand insights from a panel of women authors recently published by LifeTree Media. Learn from their experience as they open up about why they decided to take the plunge, how hard it was really to write their manuscripts, and how becoming a published author has changed their lives and careers.
If you’re considering writing a nonfiction book to share your expertise, build your thought-leadership or boost your business, don’t miss this stimulating discussion. Come prepared to take lots of notes, and leave feeling inspired and ready to write your book!
Wine and nibbles will be served.
Please note: this session is geared to those who want to write an information-based nonfiction book about their area of expertise. Anyone interested in publishing is welcome to attend, but if you’re planning to write a work of fiction, poetry, a children’s book or a memoir, be advised that you may find this material less relevant to your needs. This is because the writing, publishing and book-marketing processes are quite different for works of fiction – and kids’ books are in a universe all their own.
