Personal finance expert Manisha Thakor will walk you through the expenses that accompany starting a business, as well as the classic financial and business mistakes to avoid when YOU are the product your new business is selling.

What are the various categories of expenses to expect when you are starting to build a business / brand around yourself (and what are reasonable price ranges for those expenses)? How can you bootstrap to fund those expenses? Personal finance expert Manisha Thakor will also share the answers, along with the classic financial and business mistakes to avoid when YOU are the product your new business is selling.

Manisha will share her own personal story of moving from Corporate America to author / speaker / solopreneur.

Manisha is on a mission to help American women learn how to live their lives from a position of financial strength. She is the author of two top-selling personal finance books: ON MY OWN TWO FEET: A Modern Girl’s Guide to Personal Finance and GET FINANCIALLY NAKED: How to Talk Money with Your Honey. Manisha’s financial literacy advocacy work has been featured in national publications such as The New York Times, BusinessWeek, US News & World Report, Glamour, Real Simple, and Women’s Day.

She is also a regular personal finance blogger on The Huffington Post, contributor to the nationally syndicated show on NPR, “51% – The Women’s Perspective,” and a monthly columnist for Prior to this, Manisha spent 15 years working in the financial services industry as an analyst, portfolio manager, and client service executive.

Manisha received her BA from Wellesley College, her MBA from Harvard Business School, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder. Manisha and her husband split their time between Houston, TX and Santa Fe, NM.
