According to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA), anxiety disorders affect more than 18% of the adult US population, and women are 60% more likely to suffer than men. It can feel as though there is little that we can do to alleviate anxiety. Though medication usage seems to be on the rise, there are natural strategies that we can use to change the way we think about the challenges we face.
In this jam session on World Mental Health Day, led by coach and Thrive Programme Consultant, Ruth Pearce, you will learn to:
- Choose your perspective or “lenses” for the day
- Use your natural ability to contemplate the future to our advantage instead of our detriment
- Build self-esteem and self-confidence to combat a sense of being overwhelmed.
Ruth Pearce enjoyed a successful career in project management, even though she was a long-time sufferer of a phobia/social anxiety. Having discovered the Thrive Programme, which transformed her life, she trained as a consultant and now uses this enjoyable and educational program to coach others to change their thinking and change their life. She continues to project manage as well as to coach project managers to increase team engagement.
