Introduce yourself to our audience. Tell us who you are and what you are currently focused on.

Greetings Ellevate Network of fabulous women! My name is Adrine Davoodi but my friends and family call me Audrey. I founded Guardians, LLC and its affiliate companies in 2018 after spending more than a decade working for two of the largest broker-dealers. During that time, I consulted over 10,000 financial advisors and realized that they have their hands tied behind their backs and cannot serve in the best interest of their clients. They are limited to the company's product offering and are incentivized to sell certain products over others, garnering the most profit for themselves and their firms.

Guardians, LLC is a registered investment advisory (RIA) firm and can provide clients with truly unbiased asset management and financial planning services. This is because we are not a bank, broker-dealer, or insurance company that is limited to their product and services offering. We have an open system architecture and only choose the best third-party providers based on how much value and cost-savings they give to our clients, not by how much compensation we are offered.

We customize a financial plan to each client's needs and can transact multiple lines of business with efficiency and effectively produce the best results for the clients of the firm. I am passionate about sharing my expertise and knowledge in investments, lending, insurance, estate, and tax planning to be a true guardian of the wealth you have worked so hard to accumulate.

Tell us about your favorite Ellevate Network memory or success story. Why are you a member?

I am looking forward to participating in my upcoming Elevate squad. I have not had much interaction on here since joining last year but I intend to be a more active participant in the coming months.

How would you define your professional mission?

I am dedicated to providing exceptional wealth management services for my client. My mission is to provide exceptional client service and strong risk-adjusted returns. My team and I achieve that through a blend of competence, caring, and compassion. Our integrated financial planning approach with asset, liability, insurance, and tax management, provides a better solution, peace of mind, and more time for you to enjoy the wealth you've accumulated.

What qualities does it take for someone to be successful in your line of work?

It takes a lot of hard work, due diligence in researching and recommending investments based on the client's short and long-term goals. You have to be very careful and make sure you are abiding by all regulatory and compliance rules. You also have to be a good listener and a good questioner. Making sure you ask your client a thorough set of questions to ensure you have the full financial picture before making any recommendations on how they should proceed with a financial plan.

What is one of your most memorable career accomplishments?

My most memorable career accomplishment is when I passed the Series 7 and Series 66 securities exams when I was 18 years old and entered into the financial industry straight out of high school. I worked full-time for 6 years obtaining my bachelor of science in business management and my Masters of business administration with a concentration in finance.

What are some career challenges on your radar?

Running three different businesses at the same time. A financial planning and investment management company, a mortgage brokerage, and an electrical construction company focussed on the EV Charger market.

What project have you worked on that you’re most proud of? Why?

I am most proud of developing a seamless system of client onboarding for my mortgage brokerage because it has made my job of processing and originating mortgage loans much easier and has made the process easier for my clients too.

We’d love to hear more about your career path. What led you to where you are today?

When I entered the workforce I knew that I wanted to help clients with their financial goals because I was always good at saving and investing my money at a young age. My family had a big influence on that and I was trading stocks at a young age. After working for two very big broker-dealers: Wells Fargo Advisors and Morgan Stanley, I realized that I could do a much better job acting in my client's best interest by going independent and starting my own firm.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

Helping my clients succeed financially and reach their financial goals.

What legacy do you hope to leave through your work?

I would like to leave a legacy of giving through my work. One unique approach that I would like to bring into the financial management world is the concept of fee discounts through charitable giving.

What is it about your job that makes you feel it’s the right fit for you?

I feel that my job is the right fit for me is the positive reinforcement that I receive from my clients and referrals from them. I know that I am doing a good job when they send their friends and family to me for consultations and when I am able to create a tangible plan that shows how much money they can save, earn, and protect with the recommendations that I make, they feel so much more secure with financial status.

Who are your role models?

My role models are Leila Janah and Audrey Hepburn.

What is your morning ritual?

My morning ritual is waking up having a cup of MUD/WTR (it is a coffee substitute), doing my morning yoga flow, and then getting myself ready for the day.

What is your favorite social media site? Why?

My favorite social media site at the moment would be Discord, I like the idea of community and group thinking. I have a channel on there called Guardians if anyone would like to join.

What would you say your personal superpower is?

My personal superpower is connecting with people. I am able to build rapport with people quickly and gain their trust.

What does success look like to you?

Success for me is not how much money I make or how fast I can grow my businesses. I like to take a balanced approach and work on one project at a time so that I make sure I allocate the right amount of time and resources to each client as they deserve someone who is going to take the time to really figure out how I can help them.

Is work-life balance a problem for you? What is one no-fail tactic you use to create balance?

I would say Covid has made this a challenge for me this year. I am a single mom with a six-year-old daughter. I do homeschool her right now and that has made it a little more challenging for me to focus on my companies fully; however, it has been very empowering to be able to teach my daughter at home and work from home at the same time.

What advice would you offer future leading ladies wishing to break into your industry?

I would tell them to make sure they have thick skin and can handle the stresses of market volatility and are good problem solvers. I would tell them that whether they want to go to school or not they should definitely become well-versed in financial planning and tax planning first and then get into understanding the capital markets.

What is the best career advice you ever received?

The best career advice I ever received was from one of my first managers and his advice was to learn the jobs of the people around you.

What is one piece of advice you’d offer working moms?

I would tell working moms out there to utilize the resources around you. You don't have to be in all places at all times or do everything. Try to find people you trust and lean on them for help when needed.
