Introduce yourself to our audience. Tell us who you are and what you are currently focused on.

I'm a confidence coach for midlife professional women who want to change careers. My clients dream about being in a more fulfilling career, but think "it's too late" or "I could never do that". I help them create self-confidence, believe in what they're capable of, and get out of their own way.

Tell us about your favorite Ellevate Network memory or success story. Why are you a member?

I'm a big fan of small intimate networking discussions. So of course I love the Squads! It's an amazing opportunity to meet other fabulous women, hear diverse ideas, and support each other. Each person brings unique experiences and perspectives that add value to the group.

How would you define your professional mission?

My mission is to help every woman who wants to feel more confident. I see so many women holding themselves back because of self-doubt and fear. And when they reach midlife, they often think it's too late and they give up on their dreams. I want to help them empower themselves to make a confident decision about what they want and go after that.

We’d love to hear more about your career path. What led you to where you are today?

It wasn't a straight path! I started in science and technology. I was a data analyst, developer, and project manager. I moved into process improvement and had a role that included coaching managers to be better leaders. I loved coaching!

Around the same time, I had a challenging project that caused my confidence to nose dive. Confidence had been an ongoing struggle for me, and this project was my wake up call. I HAD to solve this! I went searching for a better solution and finally found coaching. It was the first time I learned to create authentic lasting confidence!

As my confidence improved, I started seeing all the women around me struggling with their confidence. I also realized I'd always wanted to have my own business and had let self-doubt hold me back.

So, I left my 25-year corporate career to start my coaching business. Today, I love helping women overcome the challenges I used to struggle with!

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

I love the moment when my client realizes what they really want, the thing they were afraid to admit to themselves, and they start to believe it's possible. That moment is pure gold!

What legacy do you hope to leave through your work?

I want to help as many women as possible become more confident, believe in their own power, dream big, and go after what they want. I want to create a movement that helps these women and society. When women show up more confidently, everyone benefits - our families, our industries, and the world.

What is it about your job that makes you feel it’s the right fit for you?

I love helping people and solving problems, and that's what I get to do every day. Having a coaching business leverages all my strengths and pushes me to grow in ways I never thought possible. I prove to myself every day that I'm capable of so much more than I ever imagined.

Who are your role models?

I'm grateful for the life coaches who came before me. They proved that this is a viable career and industry. They had the guts to go for it when there was no evidence that it could be done.

I admire Brené Brown's bravery and authenticity. I'm grateful for her teachings.

I admire my mom, who battled pancreatic cancer with incredible courage and optimism.

What would you say your personal superpower is?

I always say superpowers are like breathing. It's so easy that you assume it's easy for everyone. You don't even know it's a superpower until other people ask you over and over how you did that.

People have told me I'm amazing at staying calm under pressure (at least on the outside!) and holding space for others.

What is the best career advice you ever received?

Don't be afraid to fail. All successes are built on a stack of failures. The only real failure is not trying or giving up. Everything else is a learning opportunity!
