Hi, I’m Shannon McGee owner of Music City Referral Network, a Network In Action franchise, and also serves as a strategic business consultant and owner of Peregrination CX, LLC, a business consulting firm that specializes in helping small to mid-sized B2B companies utilizing a client-centric approach to change and transformation optimization that is focused on people, processes, and systems. As a local community builder and franchise owner with Network In Action (NIA), I’m looking for committed leaders like me who understand the value of building strong relationships to build business. NIA is a rapidly growing, award-winning business networking company that offers the combined power of advanced technology, proven systems, guaranteed return and trusted relationships.

Tell us about your favorite Ellevate Network memory or success story. Why are you a member?

I grew up the daughter of a career Marine Corp Aviator, so I grew up all over the country and I’ve always enjoyed building new relationships, learning about new cultures, and connecting with others in a meaningful way. During the pandemic, Ellevate Network allowed me to expand my network both nationally and globally. The relationships I’ve made, conversations I’ve had and thought leadership I have experienced through the many events have impacted both my business and life in a positive way. Recently, I had the pleasure to meet a member here in Nashville who had been regularly attending our virtual Nashville coffees for the past 18 months from South Africa.

How would you define your professional mission?

My passion is PEOPLE - relationship building, being a connector and helping others succeed. I love building new relationships and nurturing existing ones. Network In Action is my dream opportunity to be a Professional Connector and focus on helping others full-time through building strong relationships.

What qualities does it take for someone to be successful in your line of work?

People who are passionate about building strong, meaningful relationships, with the heart of a coach focused on helping others grow business will be the most success NIA franchisees.

We’d love to hear more about your career path. What led you to where you are today?

My career spans many industries because I was often recruited in to help build a team or department and grow the company. I've been in many acquisitions and even worked myself out of a job a few times with my drive toward improvement, efficiency, and results.

I always dreamed of being a “professional connector” but I didn’t know how to make that work until I found Network In Actions. For the first time in my career, I now have a 10-year plan and true control of my business future and that peace of mind is amazing. But the best part is that I'm having so much FUN meeting great people, building strong relationships, helping them grow their businesses and focusing entirely on others without worry.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

The relationships and friendships I continue to build are one of the most rewarding aspects of what I do but seeing their success in growing business is just as exciting for me.

What is it about your job that makes you feel it’s the right fit for you?

We’ve all heard that we should find the job we love, and we won’t work a day in our life, but I wasn’t really sure what that felt like. I’ve enjoyed my jobs, worked with great people, loved focusing on clients and helping grow the businesses that employed me, but I can’t say I was always excited to get up, go work every day and feel joy at what I was doing. It has taken me over 30 years, but I found my dream job! I absolutely love what I do, who I work with, and the future I now have planned.

What is your favorite social media site? Why?

LinkedIn is the best business networking platform out there, and since my clients are focused on business growth, it’s the natural place to connect.

What does success look like to you?

Managing and growing 5-6 strong NIA groups, helping my members achieve success with flexibility in my schedule to enjoy more time with my family.
