Introduce yourself to our audience. Tell us who you are and what you are currently focused on.

Greetings, I am Pam Jackson, PhD, new entrepreneur as founder of Driven Performance Consulting FZE based in Dubai, UAE.

Tell us about your favorite Ellevate Network memory or success story. Why are you a member?

I am a member of Ellevate because this is a remarkable organization that fuels my growth, my knowledge, and my confidence. My experience with my first Ellevate event was on Zoom in early 2021 and the space was warm, loving, and fun -- and everyone was brilliant and possessing rich expertise.

How would you define your professional mission?

I am on a mission to create a world of workplaces that work - where people flourish and thrive because their teams, their manager, and their workloads empower them rather than oppress them.

What qualities does it take for someone to be successful in your line of work?

Being bold, brave, committed, and tenacious is what I see to be to succeed as I start and grow my own company.

What is one of your most memorable career accomplishments?

I moved to Dubai from Washington, DC in Summer 2017 and partnered with a fantastic team of healthcare professionals to open a medical clinic and surgery centre. I served as Operations Chief. In our first year and we were wildly successful at hitting our revenue benchmarks, creating fabulous patient outcomes, and having new managers win at their work!

What are some career challenges on your radar?

I am still learning how to market and sell my products and services and grow my client base. I am powerfully supported by the Ellevate Roundtables and the experts that bring their wisdom.

What project have you worked on that you’re most proud of? Why?

I deliver Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion training programs for corporates and organizations and was asked to lead a series of panel discussions for a recorded conference with Aqmen365 from Informa Connect Middle East. More than 500 people from more than 27 countries attended the live-online event and the recording will be available for others.

We’d love to hear more about your career path. What led you to where you are today?

I have spent decades in the entrepreneurship space and had always been the number 2 person. In Dubai, with the healthcare facility, in DC with a public charter school, in Detroit with an educational foundation... each time were highly successful enterprises that grew and prospered. And I was never #1 lead with "my butt on the hot seat." I had a lot to contribute and I made a profound difference, and I was never as vulnerable in the #2 spot relative to the person in the #1 spot. I decided it is time... put myself out "on the skinny branches" be vulnerable and at risk... and proud to create and succeed as the #1 in my own business. Wow!

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

I enjoy the difference I make with the people in my courses and coaching programs. When "their light comes on" and they get "it" whatever it is that we are creating, it is magical. When they come away with something new, that is valuable and that they can use, I feel so rewarded and accomplished.

What legacy do you hope to leave through your work?

I want my legacy to be that the way employers see the world of work is permanently altered and they have a strong commitment to care for the quality of the work environment and for the Employee Experience. I care that managers are highly effective supervisors and possess the leadership skills to make a profound difference in creating with their teams and in eliminating danger from the workplace (keeping the workspace psychologically safe, inclusive, and equitable) .

What is it about your job that makes you feel it’s the right fit for you?

I am at home contributing to people and their growth and development... and I grow my own in the process. I am constantly learning and growing with them as well.

Who are your role models?

Christine LaGarde,  Michelle Obama, Angela Merkel,  Maya Angelou.

What is your morning ritual?

I write in my prayer and gratitude journal first thing in the morning and spend quite time in meditation.

What is your favorite social media site? Why?

I spend most of my time on LinkedIn and find it inspiring and nourishing to learn and grow from what people share and create new possibilities as well.

What would you say your personal superpower is?

I am a keen thinker with powerful analytical skills. I understand people and data equally well.

What does success look like to you?

My business flourishes and thrives being of service to thousands of people worldwide contributing to their growth and development.

Is work-life balance a problem for you? What is one no-fail tactic you use to create balance?

Work-life balance is not a problem for me. One no-fail tactic I use is to make the time for the prayer and gratitude journaling.

What advice would you offer future leading ladies wishing to break into your industry?

Be willing to take risks, fail, and fail fast.

What is the best career advice you ever received?

Say yes to the opportunities that come.

What is one piece of advice you’d offer working moms?

Give up any concern about time with your kids and focus on being present with your kids when you are with them. Time becomes irrelevant.
