My current focus is to continue to build on the relationships in the CPG industry and grow my career.

Tell us about your favorite Ellevate Network memory or success story. Why are you a member?

I have been an Ellevate Member for 6 months now, I quickly realized how amazing it is connecting with positive, passionate and fearless women across North America and make new friends along the way! I find the roundtables very relevant and I leave every roundtable feeling empowered and also knowing that I'm not alone in feeling the way I do in certain situations.

What qualities does it take for someone to be successful in your line of work?

Passion for sales, drive, and a great sense of accountability.

What is one of your most memorable career accomplishments?

My most memorable career accomplishment is getting promoted to my current role as a Key Account Manager. It took me years of exploring different roles & career opportunities to finally find the one where I love and thrive in.

We’d love to hear more about your career path. What led you to where you are today?

I started my career not knowing where it would go or what I wanted to do, I started my career in HR and soon switched to Marketing, I decided to go with the flow for the first couple of years, which helped me understand what I liked and didn't, starting from the ground up. I soon realized that I thrive in a role that is challenging, strategic, and offers variety. I joined my current company at an entry-level position 4 years ago even though I had several years of experience, just to get my foot into sales, the last 4 years have been very rewarding and a huge learning for me.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

Knowing that I am always making a difference in the grocery industry.

What is your morning ritual?

I like to keep it simple, just like my life's motto - Life a simple life! I don't like to rush or be rushed, so I like to start my day early. I start my day with a shower followed by breakfast while listening to meditative music (cause why not?) and if I feel like it, I will do my 15min pilates routine. I then prepare for work and start with my to-do list for the day, prioritizing the top 3 important tasks 1st. I like to romanticize all my tiny tasks like taking a shower or drinking my coffee.

What would you say your personal superpower is?

My superpower is my positive outlook & enthusiasm. I genuinely believe that bringing JOY to everything you do makes it less work and more fun.

What does success look like to you?

Success to me is self-satisfaction. If you are content where you are in life right now, then you are successful.

Is work-life balance a problem for you? What is one no-fail tactic you use to create balance?

Work-life balance used to be a problem when the pandemic started and we all moved to work from home. It was a real challenge shutting my computer off at 5 pm. After struggling for a year, I realized that there are days when I'm super motivated and productive, but there are days when I'm just waiting for the clock to hit 5 pm. I started to take advantage of the days when I'm very motivated to get the majority of my to-do list out of the way, this helped me take "slower days". During the slower days, I would push myself to book a gym class or go out to dinner with a friend or walk. This soon became a routine and I have been thriving since.

What advice would you offer future leading ladies wishing to break into your industry?

Just go for it! You don't know what you are capable of until you try! Be strong, and ask for what you want and deserve.

What is the best career advice you ever received?

Hard work beats talent! This has stuck with me throughout my career.
