I am an HR leader who truly believes that people make the difference! I have been in Talent Acquisition leaderships roles on the corporate side for over a decade and recently launched upLIFT, an executive search firm. My mission has remained the same - to elevate both companies and careers to the highest levels while incorporating core values and inspiration into all that I do. When companies and people meet their match, amazing things happen!

How would you define your professional mission?

I truly believe that it is my mission to find unique talent that can challenge the status quo and achieve career fulfillment. I try to find talent that can see what others cannot; foster creativity and inspiration to a company, and those who are courageous. It is crucial that they find innovative and purpose driven companies that share in their goals and mission.

What is one of your most memorable career accomplishments?

I would say that launching upLIFT has been it. upLIFT was created to truly challenge the status quo in executive search. I saw a need for someone to incorporate true purpose and inspiration when providing talent solutions. Since my launch; I have had many leaders reach out and specifically state that they feel a difference in what I am trying to accomplish. They are encouraged by the sense of core values that at the heart of upLIFT. That sort of feedback is my definition of success and accomplishment. I could not ask for anything more.

We’d love to hear more about your career path. What led you to where you are today?

I actually spent several years in the insurance industry as an underwriter and a broker. I then transitioned to Human Resources as I always gravitated towards helping others and connecting people to opportunities. I have had the privilege to work for some amazing companies that gave me the opportunity to lead Talent functions. These experiences helped me gain knowledge in the transforming HR space and the skills that I need as I embark on my entrepreneurial venture.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

I am building some incredible and meaningful relationships which I value above all else. It is extremely rewarding getting to know people; their stories and purpose, and ultimately connecting people to tremendous opportunities. I truly feel as thought I am making a difference in people's lives. Every day I feel as though I have the opportunity to inspire others and be inspired.

What legacy do you hope to leave through your work?

I hope that people and companies make it their mission to embed core values in all that they do. When faced with challenges; to always stand up for what is right. We always have the choice to help others and be generous with our knowledge and expertise. Additionally, I hope that people always try to understand the "why" and remain purpose driven and purpose centered throughout their lives and careers.

Who are your role models?

My role models are the strong women in my life. My mother, my aunts, and my friends who have been my source of support and inspiration for as long as I can remember. I think it is important to always acknowledge those behind the scenes who make it all possible. Some of them have successful careers; while others are full time moms; however, they are all strong, courageous and have taught me how to persevere through every challenge.

What would you say your personal superpower is?

I would say that belief has always guided me. Truly believing that anything was possible and believing in myself. I find that throughout challenges in life, this sense of belief can be tested and it is important to never lose sight of who you are and what you are capable of. I would also say, grit! During tough times, you need to dig deep, remain strong and focused to accomplish what you set out to do.

Is work-life balance a problem for you? What is one no-fail tactic you use to create balance?

Yes, it is a problem for everyone!! Work/life balance is challenging! I have two amazing children who give me inspiration every day. They appreciate all that I do, and see how hard it all is. I have a hard rule to NEVER miss any important event of theirs. I have never missed a school play, sports game, recital, or anything. Through my corporate roles and current entrepreneurial venture, I always stop working by 6PM, have dinner with the family and resume work after everyone is asleep. I ensure that I am present; and spend quality time with those I love.
