Introduce yourself to our audience. Tell us who you are and what you are currently focused on.

I'm a San Diego-based mom of four, author, speaker, coach, and founder of the Sexy Mama Movement. Whew! That's a mouthful. I'm currently focused on growing my tribe of sexy mamas, and creating the most incredible experience for mamas in the Sexy Life Academy, an 8-week online group coaching program I offer.

How would you define your professional mission?

My mission is to support moms in their personal transformation, therefore impacting their marriages, parenting, and future of generations to come. It's unbelievably fulfilling personally to see the immediate impact, and to know the ripple effect will continue indefinitely as these women have taken ownership and broken default patterns!

What qualities does it take for someone to be successful in your line of work?

Courage, authenticity, vulnerability, resilience, and compassion are the first few that come to mind.

What is one of your most memorable career accomplishments?

One of my most memorable career accomplishments has been publishing my book this year, after four years of overcoming obstacles, life circumstances, and self-doubt.

What are some career challenges on your radar?

The challenges I foresee in the more immediate future are all related to growing my company with the right team of investors and collaborators. I've begun seeking outside help for the first time since founding the Sexy Mama Movement in early 2015, to support this massive vision and reach more moms whose lives will be impacted by this movement.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

The most rewarding part of my job is seeing the immediate impact on my clients' relationships with themselves, their significant others, and their kids. I love witnessing their "aha" moments and mindset shifts. There's seriously nothing like it!

What legacy do you hope to leave through your work?

The legacy of my work is intimately tied to the legacies of those in the Sexy Mama community, since this movement further enables women to step into their power and create their individual legacies. Ultimately, I want to leave behind a thriving community of women elevating themselves, each other, and their families to greatness!

What is your morning ritual?

My morning ritual requires a bit of flexibility with four kiddos, but a typical morning starts out with gratitude, a trip to the bathroom (surprise!), a few minutes of deep breathing, and 15-20 minutes of meditation, followed by a brief visualization of my day. Then, off to changing diapers and making breakfasts before our older kids go to school, followed by a brief workout. If I don't have my "me time" before responding to life's demands for the day, I do find my fuse to be shorter. It's so worth getting up early for!

What does success look like to you?

To me, success is knowing myself, loving myself, and getting to do the things that allow me to be more of myself. When those three are happening, I find I can serve others more powerfully and have a natural overflow of love, patience, kindness, and compassion.

Is work-life balance a problem for you? What is one no-fail tactic you use to create balance?

The million dollar question! My most effective no-fail tactic is more of a system: setting boundaries, simplifying my life as much as possible, committing only to the things that further my vision, time-chunking, and being present in the moment. Managing energy is of utmost importance to me. When I find myself feeling overwhelmed or spread thin, it's always been because one or more of these things are off-course.

What is one piece of advice you’d offer working moms?

Be 100% present wherever you are. Trying to multitask anything you actually value is a total poop storm; I greatly advise you to avoid!

Tell us about your favorite Ellevate Network memory or success story. Why are you a member?

In January, I was excitedly googling "women's San Diego networks," and came across an Ellevate event. From the moment I stepped into that first gathering, I felt like I was home, among my people. I joined that very day, and have since been increasingly grateful for this incredible community of inspiring women!
